The Black Love Block Party 2016 Stop the Violence For Memphis From Memphis celebrates black faith, family, health, education, sororites, fraternities, business, food, style, and entertainment. The doors open at 11am and the event starts at 12noon with Pastor Marron Thomas and Innovation Church Memphis kicking off the day with a worship celebration followed by prayers for the city of Memphis. After the hour long woorship service, the event will host an array of Memphis' top of the line talent . We are also giving away 500 BackPacks full of school supplies to the first 500 student ticket holders and 3 $1000 scholarships to students attending a HBCU.The headliner Suga Shack Memphis performs at 6pm. The block party is about partying and providing services at the same time in the name of the beauty that is blackness. The day is about people unapologetically showcasing THEIR own unique style blackness with out fear of judgment. A day where people can wear the afros and dashikis or their cool hair styles and ripped jeans. What ever defines them is allowed
