About I Am
Ballet Memphis- A symphony of struggles and triumphs in four world premiere works, featuring some of the country's hottest choreographers. New York's Reggie Wilson, whom the New York Times calls "technically stunning and emotionally raw," brings us I Am a Man in his unique style that draws from the blues, slave and spiritual culture of Africans in the Americas. Award-winning Gabrielle Lamb looks at culture and roles in I Am a Woman. San Franciscan Julia Adam draws inspiration from the charred remains of an Alabama church for I Am a Child. And in tribute to the world that continues to unite us through these struggles, Steven McMahon brings us the finale, I Am.
There are four seating options—Premiere ($72), A ($43), B ($22) and C (just $10.)
